4 Ways to Make your Summer Holidays Stress-Free and Healthy

So are you ready to say goodbye to the city for a little while and head to the beach or the hills for a break? Its summers and schools are ready to close down for a month as we write this. Don’t you want to head somewhere for the holidays for some fun. A break from the hustle bustle of city life brings that much needed boost to your mental wellbeing. Travelling also brings with it great memories and positive thoughts that sustain you in bad times. All in all, it’s time to get away and we bring you four ways to make it healthy as well as fun!

Carry Less, Travel Light :

The experience of travelling lies in seeing new places and people, tasting new things and wandering about in a new place without the stress of getting lost. What use is a lot of baggage then? Carry a minimum number of clothes with you as you take off to the fabulous beaches of Goa or the hill stations of Himachal Pradesh. A pair of denims can go with several tees and shirts and kurtas making things convenient. Along with clothes, carry a cap, one pair of glasses and two pairs of shoes that go with everything you wear. Carrying less will mean lesser strain on your back and convenience in your travels no matter what vehicle or geography you end up in!

Carry dry food and premixes :

This is a life saver, we promise. Imagine you expected fun and games at an adventure and outdoor sports activity destination in your itinerary, but you got more than you thought with the sun playing wicked – and now you are tired and sweaty. What do you do? Premixes or powder mixes of healthy water based drinks are an instant life saver in this case. Not only do you get to have water that is delicious, some premixes are natural and do not have any artificial preservatives and flavours in them, like the Unloq Tender Coconut Water premix. Just carry the single serve sachets in your backpack, pour it in your water bottle, shake and drink!
Steer clear of buying fizzy drinks when stuck in the heat or when without options. Be prepared in advance by carrying sachets of your favourite instant drinks like Unloq Tender Coconut Water with you next time you travel.

Do your homework :

Don’t stop after choosing a place and a hotel for your summer vacation. Stay on your laptop a little longer and also read up on the best local cuisine and the oldest restaurants that serve them. Believe us, you will be thanking us, because the little homework that you do will save you ample time wasted on questions like where to eat, where to head to and the likes.
Make a list of the top places to eat and their locations before heading out and see how stress-free your trip becomes. Be it nariyal pani, jalebis or biryani, have it all without the worry of finding a good hotel at the same time!

Combine sightseeing and leisure :

Don’t go hard on the sightseeing just because you might travel to this part of the world only once in your lifetime. Sure, FOMO is real and we don’t want to miss a thing, especially when we spend so much on building a good travel plan. But our mental wellbeing is also important and some of the top travelers of the country agree that a combination of sightseeing and leisure is ideal.
For instance, if you have a summer vacation plan of seven days, choose a sightseeing spot or two every day and relax in the evenings, sipping coconut water or Mojitos in some quaint café. Or explore a museum an entire day but chill the next day. By doing so, the body gets its much needed rest, especially if you are travelling with children. Rejuvenated and refreshed from the resting and fine dining, you will be ready to take on new adventures the next day!
